FES Zambia 50 years' Jubilee Week

This year the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Zambia Office celebrated 50 years of its presence in Zambia. The events of the celebration took place from the 21st September to the 4th of October 2018 and were graced by the presence of important dignitaries.

This year the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Zambia Office celebrated 50 years of its presence in Zambia. The events of the celebration comprised of various meetings and colloquiums with some representatives of its partner institutions which include, the Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD), the Women in Informal Employment Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO), the International Trade Union Confederation Africa (ITUC), Africa Platform for Social Protection (APSP), the Southern African Social Protection Experts Network (SASPEN), the African Labour Researchers Network (ALRN),the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), the Civil Society of Poverty Reduction (CSPR), the World Food Programme, as well as some of the Ministries in Zambia. The Foundation also organised an evening event that was graced by the presence of, German Ambassador to Zambia His Excellency Achim Burkart, Former German Minister of Justice Prof. Dr. Herta Däubler-Gmelin, FES Head of Africa Department Dr. Manfred Öhm and Mrs. Silvia Chalikosa as Guest of Honor representing the Vice President of Zambia.

The events of the celebration took place from the 21st September to the 4th of October 2018, during this time a courtesy call was also paid on the First Republican President of Zambia Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.
