Are Youths Involved or Marginalized in Decision Making in Zambia?

The "YOUNG & KEEN" activity as a product of the Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Zambia Office, aims to continuously train YLDP Alumni on practical tools that improve their capabilities to participate in democratic affairs by improving their skills of  political debates. Both the Master of Ceremony/Moderators and the panelists during the Young and Keen Debates are chosen from the ranks of the alumni, however, external experts are invited to give keynote speeches on special topics. This years Young and Keen debate was structured by two groups; Group 1 argued the position that “Youths are involved in decision making in Zambia, while Group 2 argued the position that "Youths have been marginalized in decision making in Zambia.”
The selection of issues to be discussed and debated is always conducted in consultation with the FES in order to maintain a connection to social democratic values of the foundation and to maintain an orientation towards the objectives of our work in Zambia. The full debate is available on the FES Zambia Facebook page via the link here
