While significant progress has been made through the implementation of programmes under the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP), coordination challenges among implementing agencies and stakeholders continue to affect the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. It is against this background that the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Zambia Office, as part of the 2026 Zambia Social Protection Week, convened a Public Discussion Forum under the theme, "Strengthening Social Protection Coordination Mechanisms in Zambia." The forum brought together government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations, social protection experts, and other stakeholders to review existing coordination mechanisms, identify implementation challenges, and share practical strategies for strengthening collaboration across the social protection sub-sector. The discussions generated recommendations aimed at improving coordination, reducing duplication, enhancing institutional partnerships, and promoting more effective and inclusive social protection delivery in Zambia.
