2026 Youth Leadership Development Programme Kicks Off

The first Block Week of the 2026 Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) was successfully held, bringing together young leaders from diverse backgrounds across Zambia for an intensive week of learning and leadership development.

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Zambia Office successfully held the first Block Week of the 2026 Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) in Lusaka. The activity brought together young leaders from political parties, civil society organisations and trade unions across Zambia for an engaging week of learning, dialogue and leadership development. Through interactive sessions facilitated by experienced resource persons, participants explored topics related to democracy, governance, leadership and youth participation.

The YLDP continues to provide a platform for young people to strengthen their leadership skills, exchange ideas and build networks across sectors. The 2026 cohort reflects the diversity and dynamism of Zambia’s youth and demonstrates the important role young leaders play in shaping the country’s democratic and social development. The successful completion of the first Block Week marks the beginning of a transformative leadership journey for the young leaders participating in this year’s programme.
